Zumba sessions are typically about an hour long and are taught by instructors licensed by an organization called Zumba Academy. The exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training.
The music comes from the following dance styles: cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chachacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, hip hop music, axé music, and tango.

Isobel Joyce is a native of Bray. She has been involved in sport all of her life, and has always needed to be fit to play those sports. Going on long runs and sprints with teammates was always a means to an end, something she didn’t enjoy but did because she needed to be fit to compete.
She trained as a fitness instructor with Motions Fitness in UCD two years ago where she learned to teach exercise to music, step aerobics and circuit training but when she discovered Zumba she knew she had found the ideal way to make getting fit fun.
The Zumba catchphrase is “Party yourself into shape”, and the mantra could not be more true.
Zumba keeps you strong and improves cardio fitness while also toning areas that you may have never been able to target before.
It’s a fun class you can do by yourself or with friends and it’s a good way to meet new people. Isobel’s students have testified an improvement in confidence, weight loss success, higher energy levels and, most importantly, they always have a smile on their faces leaving the class.
It’s not about being a brilliant dancer or having all the moves, it’s about letting go and enjoying yourself with the added bonus of getting physically fit.
Any person at any level of fitness can take part in a class and will see vast improvements over the course of a few short months.

Hi, I’m Andrea, I am from Hungary. Dance has been part of my life since I was born, even as a baby my Dad said that I would wiggle at delight when music played and I cried when it stopped. My Father realised that I had a hunger for dance and he began to teach me. Since then dance has been a huge part of my life. I have attended many types of dance classes since a little girl and I dreamed of becoming a professional dancer.
I have since relocated to Ireland and in 2012 I discovered Zumba. I studied and became a qualified Zumba Instructor. It was the best decision of my life! I am passionate about exercise and dance and I love to bring this joy into the lives of others. I joined the Olive 3 Team in 2014 and I am delighted to offer not only Zumba classes but also combination Zumba and Yoga 6 week focused programmes for weight loss, toning and fitness with my colleague yoga teacher Aoife Ni Mhurchu.
I have qualified for Zumba kids and Zumba kids junior. I will also be working on combination classes (called Parent/Adult & Child Zumba) with Isobel Joyce.
So come along and try one of my classes and I will bring you through the rhythms of salsa, samba and meringue. You will have great fun, get fit and meet new friends.
